— I stole this quote from a post on Chase Jarvis’ blog the other day by his retoucher, Scott Rinckenberger, and the more I think about it, the more I like it.  I think with photography, and any other art really, people tend to get too wrapped up in the “why” and try to read too far into something that’s not always necessary.  There’s certainly times when “Because it looks cool” can easily be overdone, but if it makes sense for what you’re doing then go for it.  Not everything has to be as we see it with our eyes.  I think that’s half of the fun of photography.  Making the world in your image look like what YOU want it to look like.
